My approach is to form a collaborative relationship. It begins with understanding your unique situation and needs. During our initial sessions, I focus on actively listening without judgment to gain insight into your history, current struggles, and what motivated you to seek therapy. My goal is to make you feel heard and supported.
Once I have a full picture, we will work together to set appropriate treatment goals and devise a customized plan. You are a full partner in this process. While I provide evidence-based techniques and strategies, long-lasting change ultimately requires effort and commitment from you. I am there to offer guidance, feedback, and accountability as you do the important inner work. Over time, my role shifts from teacher to consultant so that you gradually apply what you have learned on your own.
